Generally PayPal will always reimburse you if you don't receive what you pay for.

I found out his angle! He insisted that I send it friends and family! I told him in not so nice words that would not send it that way but would be glad to send it regular paypal! He said he would not take a payment that way only through friends and family! So needless to say we didn't do business! This sight saved me from screwing up and getting scammed! Because I had read this in someone's else's post, about the same thing happening! To them! Thanks guys!

I've had the Harmon videos for several years and while I don't always agree with the techniques that he shows, I've found them to be very useful and informative. I don't remember how I ordered the videos or how I paid for them, but I didn't have any issues. I would say that if you are looking at buying the videos directly from Fred then there shouldn't be any problem. If he is trying to go with the "Friends and Family" deal then he is probably trying to avoid the Paypal fees on his end.

Then you probably were not speaking to Fred. He speaks very clearly and is easy to understand. You probably had a scammer. Good for you for suspecting it, and for letting the others in this forum know that the scammer is out there.

"Friends and family" means he doesn't pay the PayPal fees that he would for normal selling. So he makes more money - but you get no protection. Friends and Family is intended to send money between friends and family, not for the purchase of goods or services.

Here's what PayPal says about this:
PayPal Buyer Protection does not cover money transfers between friends or family. If someone selling you goods or a service asks you to send a friends and family payment, you should refuse.

No it definitely wasn't Fred , and he absolutely wouldn't budge on letting me send it regular paypal so I could be protected! He said you are safe I won't stiff you! Lol but I mean what do you expect him to say, I'm about to screw you lol, well I feel like I did the right thing but beware if Osama sounding guy comments on your post then he will call you !

Usually Paypal friends and family is a huge red flag for scammers because they know you cant do anything about the money. 2nd red flag if you had got that far is they almost always use a gmail address. I belong to all different forums besides motorcycles and these scammers are making it hard on buyers. Trust your gut when purchasing,if something doesnt seem quite right back out.

Yup, a quick search of his phone number sees reports of him trying this payment scam on people all over the Internet.

I've been in the COG group (with Fred) for years and I've never heard of him being anything but honest and helpful. Did you talk to him?

Fred wasn't the one trying to sell the videos, it was a third party scammer.
