Where is the best place to get a CB Microphone for my 2008 Gl1800 at a decent price?

J&M used to have them but were discontinued long ago so used is your only option.

These disappeared the first time around 2005 - they probably weren't very popular, even back in they heyday of the 1st generation GL1800, due to the proliferation of helmet headset gear.

JMCBHM-GL1815 was a later part number, the original part number was HMK-GL18 and were made by J&M. You could check with Sierra Electronics or Electrical Connection to see if they know of anything; my guess is that it's now ancient history.

Apparently, there was a second harness that the mic needed to be attached to, so that the push-to-talk function worked on the microphone, rather than on the handlebar.

It worked on the GL1500 and earlier models, because it was a simple hack to add in a single wire that was grounded which triggered the transmit mode of the radio. The switching circuit in the GL1800 CB is different and required other circuitry to activate.

Which was probably why they weren't popular.
