When you "pott" it putting it back together can you just use regular silicone to do that or does it have to be a certain kind? I have never done this before and was curious. I have read that you can just use regular silicone but better safe then sorry. I have it taken out and have de-potted it and I have removed the chip. Mine actually had a cage for lack of a better term to hold it in place. Can't that just be reused on the new one? I haven't received the new ones yet but hope to have them by the end of the week. Thanks again for the knowledge!

Thanks to all who answer and help. It is greatly appreciated!

I used regular silicone. I used it because it seemed like a good choice to me -- but I don't know enough about it to know if it was a good choice or not.

From what I see, this should work with the '83 Aspencade digital unit as well. Mine is now working, but I have two dead sensors that look identical to the '84 unit pictured. Thank you for the information.

Hello guys,
I might use your precious help here.
My sensor went down and, as suggested by owaace, I ordered the sensor from the 97-04 Valkyrie which is coded 37700-MN5-008.
Now, this is what I get (pictures attached). It looks similar to the original one but is not the same: it is smaller and with a slightly different shape.

Before I return it, can anyone confirm that it can be used after connecting the cables with the original ones?

Thank you in advance for your help. I hope this is useful for someone else too.
