I've rebuilt a LOT of carbs over my 30+ year career as a motorcycle mechanic and nothing frustrates me more than a Goldwing that refuses to purr like a kitten after I've gone through it. Sure, you can mask a throttle shaft seal leak by turning the idle mixture screw out a couple of turns but that isn't right, it's a band aid at best. No, the solution is replacing the seal and here is a video of how it's done.
