Hi all. I learned a very simple tip to give more power in the volume of your Goldwing 1500 and I come share here. I hope it's useful

Well well, I'm gonna check that out the next time I'm in there. I don't really have a problem with the volume on mine but..... Thanks for the tip!

I just turned that pot on the back of the radio 1999SE. It does adjust the volume and you can make it really load. Here is a question for you. What was that pot put there for and by adjusting it up could you be over driving the radio? Just a question I turned mine up and put it back together. Thanks for pointing this out.

i just did this on my 88 gl1500 it did help. but has anyone had anything bad happen because of it? also i have dead spots in my volume control knob. any ideas on how to fix this?

That is VR304, it is the AVC Gain trimpot.

All it does is adjust the bias of the automatic gain control. It doesn't actually give you more power. By turning it up you basically are telling the radio that you're riding fast even when you're not, so the automatic gain turns itself up sooner.

You can get the same result by turning the AGC knob on the top off, and just setting the volume control to wherever you want.

Also, by adjusting this trimpot, you are effectively disabling the AGC function of the radio, because it is now always on.

I see. Well thats okay because i dont think my speed volume worked it wojld never change tge volume
