Cylinders 1 and 2 are not working

Greetings all:

After getting the TPS fixed and putting the bike back together I have determined that cylinders 1 and 2 are not working, fuel related or timing I think as the plugs are firing. Thinking that it jumped timing I have tore the bike back down to access the timing belts and checked the marks with the T1 mark on the crankshaft and it was all correct. I have replace and checked the coils, the right 1&2 spark box and still have the 2 cylinder operation. I did notice that the right belt had excessive slack and I am hoping that this is the culprit. Again, there appears to be fire but when I start the bike and let it idle I can remove plug wires 1 and 2 and there is no change in RPM or the rich gas smell. What say ye all?

What type of bike are you working on? Your profile says a "1986 1100SE Aspencade" - which doesn't exist. 1100's were only made until 1983, and SE's didn't come along until 1990, and it was a GL1500. In 1986, Goldwings were GL1200's.

The bike is a 1986 GL1200 sei: After posting this problem I continued to read other post and found the one from piehl67 with the same problem. I found that I too had plug wires 2 and 3 reversed at the coils so I rectified that issue and the bike purrrrrrs like a kitten. Thanks for the reply all who have posted their issues in the past. It's time to ride!
