CLEAN OUT CARBS

Post by LWW@CA »

I have a 1980 GL1100 Interstate with 15,800 orignal miles, is there some addative for the gas tank to help clean out the carbs. the bike idels ok, all of a sudden the idel raises to about 35000 rpm. I was told to run a couple tanks of gas through and that should clear this up. I am wondering if there is a good gas addative I can use.
Thanks
George

Everybody here likes SeaFoam in the right proportion for the amount of fuel.I prefer just to rip those babies out and hand clean them.mainly because I can inspect all the slides and rubber that's attached.oh I do hope that 35000 rpm is a slip of the finger

Thanks, About 4 years ago I had the carbs removed and cleaned out, this is something that just started to happen, I will try the seafoam and hope that works, I did slip with the finger and should proof read what I send.
Thanks again
