92 GL1500A Loss of Brake pedal

Post by mlovelace »

I have a GL1500A, 92 and I have noticed that I have lost almost all my braking on the rear brake pedal. This almost bottoms out and it appears that the front portion is dong most of the action. I have replace the pads and the brake disc earlier last year. I have also checked the fluid. Does anyone have a cluse what I have missed and or does anyone know how I can get it fixed?
Thanks and keep the shiny side up.

If your fluid is up,the first thing is to bleed the system, starting with the front left, then the rear.
If it will bleed all the fluid from the front, your master cylinder is probably OK and there was air in the lines.
If it wont pump all the fluid out,the master needs tending to.
It's wise to replace ALL the brake fluid every couple of years or so anyways.
My 88 was original. The fluid was very dark.I had to hand clean EVERY THING and flush all the fluid from both sets to get it working again.
