My radio system was down when purchased from one of the previous owners. I tracked the problem to a one amp fuse, replaced it and now have a functioning radio system; at least it's making AM radio sounds. I'm trying to figure out if this radio has CB capabilities, but have no information about its operation or photos of the buttons that cause it to be a CB instead of FM/AM type. What am I missing here? Does this radio actually do CB operations?

Re: 1983 Aspencade radio feature
The CB is actually separate to the radio. If you have an Aspencade, and it has what it came with originally, it should have the radio, CB, and intercom in it. You'll see the volume and squelch controls on the immediate left of the radio (left side of the fairing), and the transmit/channel select buttons on the left handlebar. The display for the CB will be up on the top of the fairing.

When I take the main control unit out of the fairing, there are two additional multi-pin connectors just lying in the fairing space. Would these be what the CB radio actually hooked up to in order to have it send signals to the control unit and the channel selection display by the volt meter? In other words, I don't think that there is a CB radio installed, just connections for it.

Click on the "Manuals" link at the top of the page, and download the "Clarion Type II CB Intercom Cassette Installation Manual". It has diagrams showing where every cable, connector and module fits in the bike - you'll be able to tell what's missing from your bike with it.
