painted body panels
I`d like to hear what members are doing to remove paint from fenders, side covers and false tank without damaging the original finish. My 1100 is wineberry, underneath a gloss black, sprayed on, thick coat of paint. Don`t have a clue what kind of paint, it is a little brittle though. Also any tips or tricks for filling holes. Thanks.

Re: painted body panels
I used a palm sander with 60 grit to get down to smooth. Then moved up to 240. Then sprayed with Rustoleum auto primer and started hand sanding with 400, then 600 and finally 1000. I used spot putty for small pits or dings.
If you need to fill through holes, use abs cement mixed with abs shavings. I used a grinder to make a pile of shavings
