Tire mounting

Post by WingAdmin »

I mounted a new Avon Venom tire on my front rim today (I'll do the rear tomorrow). I have one suggestion, a suggestion I have come upon through personal experience:

When checking the direction that the tire mounts, triple check you've got it right before you mount the damn thing. Nothing worse than putting all that effort in to mounting the thing, then going to put the wheel back on the bike and realizing that you got it wrong, and have to do it all over again.

Trust me on this. The air will turn blue. :)

Actually I'm pretty good at doing it on my own, I've got my technique down pretty good. I'll write it up sometime this week when I get some time.

Pulled my rear wheel off today . Gonna put a new meat on it tomorrow after work. I worked on all makes for about 7 years and quit just before the 1500 was introduced . Good thing , I would have quit over the hassel . Now see why it costs so much to get rear tires put on these things. It is a major job just getting ready to pull off the rear wheel.
The Phantom gray is not the fastest wing color , But it has been known to slip by quickly and appear in front of faster colors at times
