I am having trouble viewing any of the documents i try to download. Perhaps i am doing something wrong. Also can't seem to find the service manual for free on the download area. the links send me to the HELM site which requires purchase. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to find a manual for my 2008 GL 1800 that will let me change the air filter.
Thanks

Well, as you have read the manuals are gone, but if you just need help with the air filter job, you can go here:
http://www.goldwingfacts.com/18airfilter.htm
That site has pictures of the process, and a video of the whole job at the bottom of the page...the bike in the video is older than an 06, so there is a slight difference in how the speaker grill comes out...on your bike the whole meter panel assembly (speaker grille, buttons below the lcd display, etc) pops off as one piece, and you have to remove the two harnesses going to the little speakers in the panel instead of removing the grilles like the video says. Everything else is the same.
Drop me a PM or reply to this thread if you need more assistance after looking at that page.

Re: Unable to find downloads
ok i was wrong ,and glad i was .your site is the best, hands down. i just recently accquired a 1981 GL 1100 1/B INTERSTATE ,with 21,373 miles on it and it is really clean. this is the bike i look at in 1981 and couldnt afford it due to being an E-3 in the US NAVY . Now that i have one ,i need a owners manual, for such questions as "how do i start the bike , is there a choke, ect. thanks again for your reply.BAJA1KWingAdmin wrote:There are still some on there to download (any listed with a file size can be downloaded).
