I've recently purchased a 1984 GL1200 Aspencade, she's a bit old, just like her new owner but my dream is to bring her back to her to her formative glory.
What I have inherited is an array of unfinished projects and trying to make head and tail of someone else's handy work can be rather frustrating, a particular problem which is irking me is the radio/cassette deck.
Firstly I fitted a new battery, the clock was flashing so I tried to reset, push the button nothing, turned left and right nothing, flicked on the side lights, the clock lights up, still couldn't be set though, tried the radio nothing, no reading in the display window.
Turned the key to acc and p, nothing, here's the thing though, turned the steering coloumn to the left, turned the key to lock, the radio lights up, the clock I managed to set, but no sound from the unit, turn the lock off and it dies on me.
Checked all over for loose wires, fuses etc, all seem fine, at a loss here, does anybody have any ideas.
Yours
FrankieMk

Re: Panasonic RM1100 radio/cassette
If you look in the manuals section (see the top of the page for the link) there is a GL1200 electrical troubleshooting guide - it has step-by-step instructions for troubleshooting electrical problems. Don't know if your problem will be addressed in there, but it's certainly a start.

Thanx for the advise, got it going using the manual you suggested.
