shifter shaft seal
Does anybody know the part # for the shifter shaft seal on a 1500. How hard of a job is it to change.

Re: shifter shaft seal
Let your fingers do the looking.
Go to the "Search" facility, and type in "shifter shaft seal", and you should get a number of responses. Then look down the items that are returned, and about the third or fourth one down, refers to the problem that you are experiencing with your 1500. Follow the details provided in the discussion, and you will even find a pointer to the item number on the microfiche. That should also provide you with the technique to remove and replace the seal, even down to putting masking tape over the splines to protect the new seal.

Still the same seal as the CB750s of the 70's, fits many Hondas.

Re: shifter shaft seal
How hard is it on the 1500, well depends if you have floorboards on it with the heel-toe shifter then it's lots harder.
I just looked for the instructions in the How to section and there isn't one on the shifter seal! I thought there was, GS?
Here is a little on it,
