Suspension Upgrade Check List

Post by seabeechief »

I'm having trouble comparing apples to apples regarding suspension upgrades. Will someone please list all the ingredients for a "full monty" or a "mega monty"! What comprises a full and complete suspension upgrage.

I undestand that Traxxion, Race Tech and Progressive all have suspension parts, but do they all have ALL the parts? Thanks.

Chief

Hi Chief. You may get more responses to this question if you post it directly to the following forum viewforum.php?f=7
The reason being, not many people really look for technical questions to answer in this Goldwing Chat forum. I know nothing about 1800's but you will get some help, I'm sure.

Point taken, Pat. Thanks. I will copy & paste the request to the tech forum.

I'm in the process of putting Progressive springs and shocks on my 1500, so to me that's pretty much a "full monty". :)

WingAdmin, I moved my question over to the "tech" section, but I don't know how to remove this one.

I took care of it for you, and merged both topics.

I can find Progressive shocks and springs on the internet, but I don't know what "additional" parts to buy to do the complete job all at once; i.e. bushings, washers, guides, etc. I don't know what should be replaced and what should be left alone. I think I need to buy Fred Harmon's DVD set as well. Remember, I'm still in the process of Harley/Goldwing transition. It is one hell of a learning curve.

The Progressive shocks and springs come with everything you need. For the springs, you just open the forks, pop the old ones out, put the new ones in. The rear shocks bolt off and on, and there is an adapter to adapt the air lines to fit the OEM air lines.
