Hi Guys & Gals Tater here I have an 82 GL 1100 I in need of a battery and am not to sure on what is the proper size and type .Should I get a (50-N18L-A3 Acid 18L-BS sealed or an 20L-BS AGM ?
Thanks Tater
Looking at my 2013 Interstate battery guide, it says their part number is FAYTX24HL or a CYTX24HL-BS for a high performance AGM battery. They also list a conventional battery part number I50-N18L-A. Look for these or have them crossed into whatever your local supplier carries.
Pick the one that best fits your budget. Also look into a good charger/maintainer. I've heard of people getting 10 years out of a battery using one.
I've put Deka AGM batteries in both the Wings and the VTX and have not had a single problem. My son said the Deka is about the best for the money. They were about a hundred each.
AGM all the way.Best batteries I've used to date. A little more money, but well worth the extra power and cranking time.It rolls the 1500 over like the plugs are out of it even dead cold.Got them in both my atv's as well.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.
