Valve guide measurement
Back to valve guide measurement. Could not get easy access to measuring tools, so i took a pop rivet (allum.) put it in my cordless drill and carefully turned it with 320 grit until it slid in the guide. The result was not at the wear limit....Now its back together, good compression going to sync. carbs Sat. morning.

I like......
When a tool isn't avaiable....improvise...
Keep us up to date...
Don't forget..when syncing the carbs, try to keep the engine close to 1000 rpm.
Readjust as necessary after each adjustment.
You want them to pull as close to the same vacuum as possible at 1000 rpm and then set the idle back down when finished.
This is where most of the rattle is heard...just as you take off.
