I am having a problem installing an old Martek Electronic Ignition.
I have seen a few threads about the system, but they don't seem to apply here.
The Black box I have has 4 wires which have a plug to connect to the pick-up installed in the point cover.
The other 4 wires do not match the colors most others seem to have.
There is one Black, one Red, one yellow and one White, the same colors that go to the pick-up.
I don't want to attach these to the wrong place and blow the unit, if there is a chance of that.
Can anyone tell me for sure where these wires connect?
Does anyone have instructions?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Old Martek Electronic Ignition
If you google martek you will find posts on other forums about it. As far as I can tell the black is power 12V, the white and yellow is the coil wires but there should be a green for ground. The red would indicate power as well but not sure what that is doing in the mix, maybe for ignition "ON"?
Dont hook up anything till your 100% sure it`s right.

Calzone,
That's the problem, I have looked at the posts on Martek and all have the Green wire.
Mine has two sets of 4 wires identical (White, Red, Black, and Yellow).
The one set has a plug on it to go to the pick-up. The other set has a round male connector on the Red, Yellow, and Black with a flat connector on the White.

Re: Old Martek Electronic Ignition
It could be the red is power and the black is ground but you would need to verify that by taking the box apart and trace the wires, That was My first though black was ground and red posetive until I started researching other units.
It is possible you have an earlier box and later ones had a different wire color code or yours is a later box and color codes are different on the early ones but you need to be sure before you hook anything up.
Good luck.

The Box is sealed and so difficult to take apart and reuse.

It looked to me like the thing was potted, so there will be no taking it apart in order to attempt to identify wires, unfortunately.
