Hose comming from gas cap???

Post by jimmydicki »

I'm changing out the Alternator and ran across this hose. It comes off the gas cap and runs down behind the alternator along side the over flow hose. My bike is an 1999 SE, and I can't find where it is goes for the life of me. Any Idea? thank you. :D

It's a vent hose - it goes nowhere (probably to the bottom of the bike with the overflow; I don't know, I've never followed it). It's used to safely vent fuel fumes overboard when the gas tank heats up. If your bike was originally purchased in California, it goes to a charcoal canister, to avoid offending the sensitive eco-maniacs in California with gasoline fumes. :)

I have tore up 2 Goldwing's looking for where it went, I was thinking along those lines. The thing that threw me was the "T" connector between the red hose and the black hose. Thank you for the quick response.
