I RECENTLY GOT MY GL1500 AND WASHED HER FOR THE FIRST TIME. I TRIED TO SWITCH ON THE ENGINE BUT SHE WOULD NOT CRANK (ONLY STARTER MOTOR TURNING). LET HER BE FOR ABOUT 20 MINS AND EVENTUALLY WE HAD ENGINE ON. MATTER WORRIED ME AS I AM AFRAID IF OR WHEN IT RAINS AND I AM ON ROAD SHE MAY SWITCH OFF.
ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT MAY BE WRONG (IS THIS A USUAL PROBLEM ON SOME BIKES)??.

Re: GL 1500 WASHING
The bikes are water-resistant, but not water-proof. You normally won't encounter a stream of water shooting from a hose while out riding, and when this water gets into the spark plug wells, it shorts out the spark and causes the bike not to start. The wells have drains in them however, so they will eventually dry up and everything will be fine again (as you discovered).
If you still have problems after washing, check the spark plug well drains, to see if they have become clogged.
