bike hesitates starting off
1988 honda goldwing GL1500 acts like it is loading up or flooding in the carbs. Does this happen to all goldwings this model. Had carbs rebuilt and plugs ,timing set and vaccumm hose. Ran a can of Sea Foam through engine and use only high test gas. Bike has 37000 miles on it. Mechanic said this happen to all goldwings in this models. Please help willing to pay just to have it corrected. Thanks

Re: bike hesitates starting off
Actually there was a factory recall about this.I also have a 88 that had the same problem.
Mine did not have the factory mods done so I did my own.
I ended up raising the slides a few mm. with a "O" ring and rebuilding the accelerator pump.
Some get relief with a new trigger wheel.I think it moves the timing to -10* btdc.
There's plenty of info about the gl1500 hesitation here and on the web.
Even with my mods I still get 36 in town.
