Good Day All,
I am new here and looking to add a GL1800 to my stall...
Looking at used and new but cant find an authority on the differences between year models... the local sales folks don't seem to be too knowledgeable..
Would someone enlighten me on a source of information or be able to explain the major difference between the 2007 ABS and the 2012/13 ABS models?
Thanx...
Ronald

2012/2013 is brand new, cosmetically a bit different, has a new GPS system which does not really seem to be any better, is reported to be a bit peppier, but not much, and would cost a lot more. The 2007 on the other hand is of the newer class of GL1800, (being the 2006 to 2010 models) and had all the bugs ironed out pretty well, and has depreciated considerably so that it sells in the neighborhood of $15 to $17 K. It is every bit as fine a bike as the brand new ones, with a much lower price tag, but someone else has previously enjoyed it. So, either one would be acceptable to me, and it pretty much depends on what you want. There are no really major differences.

Thanx for the quick and thorough reply.... The new one all chromed out was gonna run me ~$36K and the nicely chromed slightly (<30K miles) used 7 year old is about ~$16K or maybe $18K after I "personalize" it... half the cost for about the same machine means more $ for trips and tips to those that answer all my questions !!!! the check is in the mail !!!

36K for a 2013 Goldwing (unless it's a trike) that's a little on the steep side and it doesn't matter how much chrome is on the bike, chrome is in the eye of the beholder, I think the seller is living in an alternate reality, you can buy a 2013 ABS for 10K cheaper than what he is asking for with very little mileage on it. The 2012-13's do get a little better gas mileage (not much better) due to the redesign of the rear end of the bike. Honda has added air vents in the rear to reduce the negative back pressure or drag on the new machines. On my 2012 I'm seeing 42 mpg with 2 up doing speeds of 60-65 mph. Others that I ride with who have the older 1800's see about 38-40 mpg's, 3 miles more to the gallon isn't a great selling point when your talking about the price this seller is asking.
