Need help to replace front speakers on 2005 gl 1800

Post by craig9132@yahoo.com »

Let me start by saying I have looked around for some instructions but cannot find any. I have a 2005 gl 1800 and I want to replace the front speakers. I have already bought some new ones but I have no idea how to get to the old speakers to take them out. I don't want to just tear into the bike and possibly break something. Can anyone help me out with some step by step instructions. I found a bunch of stuff for the rear speakers and I have install those. Thanks in advance

Craig

Don't bother to reply. I got my neighbor to help me out. I had no service, parts or owner manuals. I thought that I could get some help for this web site. How wrong I was. I am really disappointed with Goldwing docs. :x

You waited a whole four hours for help from Goldwingdocs members, and then hung us out to dry. Good luck next time. I, for one, do not spend my entire life here on the site just waiting to be able to help you with your speakers, however, when I did see the request, I would have jumped right in. I am glad you got it all figured out though.

On an aside: I also could have given you links to download parts and service manuals for your bike.

Well sorry I was on the goldwingowners web site and had asked the question for a least a day with no help either. I was just a little frustrated. I guess I didn't give enuff time on this web site. I apologize. I would have thought that someone would have responded with something. I did manage to get it done with the help of a neighbor. I am really surprised that they don't have a diy on doing this and many other things. The diy section is not very complete in my opinion.

The DIY section is open for contribution - if you think something is missing, and you know how to do it, feel free to contribute, so that others can utilize the information in future!

That is a problem cause I am a newbie to the goldwings and to motorcycles in general. I am leaning but I need more input!!!!! I will try to post something up in the DIY section one of these days. I am working a bunch of hours for the next couple of weeks. I will be checking in periodically. Later
