Quick clutch cable change..

Post by Overdog »

So simple somebody MUST have posted it before....but...I"m new to the forum and new to an 83 Interstate so here it goes... I wanted to swap the 30+ year old cable for a new one. Remove both ends of the old cable as usual. Spin the adjusting nuts off of the lower end so they don't catch on anything. Tape the lever end of the new cable to the bottom of the old cable...pull the top while pushing the bottom of the old cable. Bingo...new cable routed in the same spot as the old one, couple of minutes, tops. Hope this isn't 205.

Nope, in fact that's the best way to change cables while retaining proper routing, and is the same method shown in the How to replace your clutch cable article.
