Cheap vacuum bleeder success!

Post by SteveB123 »

Another wonderful use for those cheap 2-stoke mixing syringes....a $5.99 vacuum bleeder!
Damn rears are a pain, couldn't get anything going, and I wasn't going to spend the local asking price for a vacuum bleeder (although I've had one before, and liked it....and promptly ruined the vacuum unit!)

I use the cheapo syringes for power steering fluid reservoir changes...so why not for bleeding?

It worked through a Speedbleeder!

Took it off and finished the bleeding normally through the Speedbleeder, just needed a little help to get things started. Took about 20 seconds.
New EBC pads, braided lines and front master, rebuilt calipers and rear master......finished finally!

How about a step-by-step for those of us who are a little less knowledgeable. Looks like a great way to do the job. Where did you get the syringe?

I just cracked the bleeder and applied vacuum. Once I had fluid throughout the system, I bled as normally.
