trailer hicth and lights
I got s hitch and wire harness. From cycle Max the the wire harness is not isolated my Tait lights work on the. Trailer but no turn or stop lights. Should I give up and and get a isolated one I put a test light on the plug it all tests good I hook the trailer up and just tail lights

Re: trailer hicth and lights
If your trailer has just two tail lights, which combine the brake/run/turn signal functions in a single 1157 bulb on each side, (4 Wire) then you'll need a 5 wire to 4 wire converter, since your bike has separate turn signal bulbs and combined brake/running light bulbs. (5 Wire)
Also, make sure all the lights on the trailer, are grounded out to the trailer.
When I was building my trailer, I drilled a hole through the frame and welded a nut to the frame and used that as the main grounding point for all the trailer lights.
I'd advise you to get the Isolated trailer harness so any trailer shorts won't affect your bike's system, leaving you without lights as they are powered off of the battery instead and controlled by rellays.

Which harness has the 6 wires? You need to be specific, wire colors change with different manufacturers.fuzzydog wrote:Yeah I have the 5 to 4 wire converter . But the harness has like 6 wires a green one and white and gray one I don't know a bout .The white and gray must be a accessory Wire where
Do you have the wiring diagram for the 5 to 4 wire converter as well as the bike trailer light harness?
(Yes you should be using an isolator trailer harness to protect the bike wiring from the trailer)
