Breaker???

Post by JDMAG »

Some where on the forum, When I started the now extended rebuild of my 80 GL1100I, there was an article about changing out a particular fuse with a breaker. I cant find that article now, and the time is near when I will be reassembling every, and thought I better do this upgrade while everything is still accessible. Can any one point me to this?

I don't know about using breaker, but most replace the dogbone fuse at the starter solenoid with an inline fuse.Problem with a breaker is that it will keep resetting itself if you do have problem and eventually the points in the breaker will weld themselves and then you have no protection. If you feel the need for a breaker install one that has to be manually reset. That way if it trips you'll know you have a problem and it needs to be addressed.JMHO.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.
