Bilt Bluetooth Helmet

Post by swr1977 »

I recently purchased a Bilt Techno Bluetooth Modular Motorcycle Helmet!

http://www.cyclegear.com/CycleGear/Stre ... 9_200897_2

After looking at add on bluetooth modular device that mount on the side of your helmet I decided I didn't want a large box on the side of mine the would create drag and make a window noise to have to listen to I found this one on sale for $200 which I thought was a good price. It works good and I love the drop down fighter pilot style flip-down sun shield as they call it.

I'm hoping someone out there in Goldwing world has this same helmet because I have a few questions / things that bother me about the helmet...

#1 I don't like the auto answer function. Is there any way to turn this off? I don't want the phone to auto answer someone I don't want to talk to. There are only a few people I would answer and talk to while on the bike because of the safety factor of it.

#2 I haven't tried yet to sync this helmet's intercom function to another helmet and I'm just wondering if I can only sync it to the same type or if it'll sync to other brands? Is there anyone out there who have a the Goldwing or Harley or any other brand intercom system who has been able to sync it to a different brand. I'd be interest in hearing about it. My 78 Gl100 is way before the modern bike intercoms so thats why I purchased this helmet but didn't do the research before buying and hope it doesn't come back to bite me.

I have the sena smh10 bluetooth, so I can tell you how it works. The autoanswer feature is turn on and off in your phone. Or at least it is on mine. That helmet bluetooth unit may link up with the sena smh10 with the lastest upgrades. I have upgrade my firmware and never tryed it to another brand yet.

My current phone is a Motorola Attrix HD and I've searched within the Bluetooth settings and can't figure out how to turn off the "Autoanswer" in the phone.

I did stop buy the Cycle Gear store today were I purchased the helmet to buy the black color sun shield visor and when I asked them about the auto answer the girl behind the counter didn't know! She spent 5-10 minutes reading the 4-5 page instructions that I got with the helmet only to tell me what I already knew: how to reject a call with the buttons on the helmet. But I still have the same problem "How do I turn off the auto answer function?" Her only answer is that you can NOT because she couldn't find it in the instruction booklet.

I'm going to call Bilt if I can find a customer service # for them and see what they say.
