Sleeping Beauty says, "make me new!"

Read a thread here on the weeping hole . Discovered mine had been plugged by po. I drilled it out last night and guess what??!! You guessed right, small oil leak. No sign of coolant, just oil. I ordered a pump and gasket kit from Cyclemax and some other tidbits . Will make her new again soon. Never attempted this before , however, this sight has a great how- to with pics on this.

Wow, the number of people with this hole plugged is kind of amazing. I never would have thought so many people would think of "fixing" it by plugging the hole.

They probably figured that if it isn't leaking (by way of being plugged) the problem went away.

Years ago, I had a friend who had an adult "Green Iguana." The beast was close to 6' in length, and probably weighed 10# or more. In times of stress, it would close its eyes. Apparently, if the Iguana can't see something stressful, it doesn't exist in it's mind.

I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

Hey Hawkeye,

Did you put a plug in his eyes to stop him looking?

OK, I'm not familiar with this weeping hole that is being discussed. Can someone help to describe it to me? Where is it located? Apparently there is some significance to it.
Thanks

It's on the bottom of the water pump. This is a picture from the one on my GL1100:

Is this only a problem on the 1100 or also the 1500?

It's not a "problem" - that weep hole is there by design, and it exists on every model of Goldwing, from original GL1000 to the current GL1800.
