choke cable for Silverwing Gl650

Post by allengoodwine »

I am trying to help a friend find a replacement choke cable for a 1983 Silverwing GL 650. Having a difficult time. Any suggestions? I figure it may fit several vehicles. Thanks

The GL650 choke cable isn't available from Honda anymore, but it sure looks a LOT like the 1982 GL1100 choke cable - and the part number (17950-371-010) is VERY similar. It is still available - check:

I was going to suggest the GL500 choke cable as a replacement. If I recall correctly there are aftermarket sellers of those cables... in fact, I might know a guy that might have one on a parts bike sitting out behind my house... I also checked Ebay, and there were several listed for that model Honda MC.
I am wrong as often as I am right concerning what is wrong with someone else' motorcycle without having seen the machine in person. Guessing with limited information, as to the source of the trouble, is sketchy at best.

if you still have the old one pop along to the local custom bike shop and ask if they can re-cable it for you.
