Headlight

Post by Keef »

Will some one tell me the best and brightest blubs you can use for my headlight? 1997 gl1500 Aspencade.
One went out, and would like to have them in hand when I go to change them.
Thanks

Well the best and brightest replacement bulbs are Sylvania Silverstar. They put out a lot more light for the same amount of watts. Make sure you find the motorcycle-specific ones, as the automotive ones are not as resistant to vibration.

But if you want the absolute brightest lights possible, there's no comparison to HID. I put the GoldwingHIDs kit in my GL1500, and the amount of light that comes out of the front of my bike now is just staggering.

Thanks WingAdmin.
Now the Honda dealer say's those blubs are 45/45. Would it be alright to go with something bigger, 50/55 or 55/60 ?
Thanks again.

OEM is 45/45. I had 55/60 in my GL1500, and they were bright...but the HID lights absolutely blow them away.

Hello , I switched to the HID lights also in my 97 gl1500se and I love them . they are very bright and pure white light . I got mine from DDM tuning for around $80.00 2 years ago . so they may be more now. they are plug and play, I put the ballast for them back in the opening in the fairing , Have had no problems with them but make sure you get the right lamps and ballast for your bike. See Ya on the Road
