Saving old GL1100

Post by nlovern »

Hi,
Nathan Lovern here. Havent been here much lately. I found a 81 GL1100 in a local scrap yard that someone brought in. All there but the motor is locked up,plugs out of it and water is in it. I hope to get it for $100. I have my 85 and with this one i want to make a coustom naked wing. I was wondering if anyone had a spare GL1100motor that didnt live to far away. Im in Rural Retreat,Va near I-81. Gonna try to get a motor at tax refund time.
I'm not gonna need the fairings or bags if anyone wants them let me know. There sun fadded but look good.
Thanks.
Nathan Lovern

It's probably safe to assume you didn't get a title from the scrap yard and I don't know about VA but in most states it will cost several hundred dollars and a bunch of headache to get one. that might be why it was in the scrap yard, but if it's complete you got a good parts bike for $100.
