will jumping my bike off from car hurt it?
I don't know a lot about this but will jumping my bike off from a car harm it in anyway?

The bike, the car AND you.

Yes
It's something you can do with a full on dirt bike. Not something you can do with any sort of road bike, particularly one that weighs as much as a wing.

Badly worded title - got some different responses.
Yes you can jump start the bike from your car battery. But you won't need the car running to do it. Safer if it is not running - as the CCA or cold cranking amps of your car battery is much greater than your bike battery.
But a good sized bike can be made to do most things as well.

I've seen some boosted Valkyries, no reason a super or turbo charger couldn't be put on a GoldWing.
Yes you can jump/boost from a car or car battery. The car does not have to be running.

Wow, I think some people have been snorting too many exhaust fumes, or suffering from PMS. (Parked Motorcycle Symdrome).

2 thumbs up on the PMS it would be best to let the car run a bit to put a charge in the battery before starting if its extremly low on charge

LOL I have jump started my bike with a car battery several times after a winter storage or a cold start to give more cranking time if needed. I own a GL 1500 and 2 750 Aero's purchased a portable battery pack for this purpose. If you find bike is starting on the release
of the start switch shows ignition is not getting enough power to start until load is taken from the starter.

Re: will jumping my bike off from car hurt it?
The ONLY reason I even looked at this thread was to see if anyone else saw the Yogi Berra in this. My friends you did not disappoint. We all know what he wanted to say but the execution was flawed.
BTW Dave Lambert, of Davez Motorcyle Shop and co-owner of Fremont Machine Shop (with his brother Ron) and a well known drag bike builder at New England Dragway in Epping NH built a supercharged 1800 Goldwing for one of his customers back about ten years ago. They could not get the rings to seat properly thus had great trouble mapping the ignition. At one of his annual tire smoking rallies, they brought out the wing and completely smoked the rear tire off it and the rings seated. Ron ended up with the bike as it was way too much for the owner. The looks on the faces of those rocket-riders when they pulled up next to Ron at 75mph and he lit up the rear tire and brought the front into the air as he left them with jaws dropped was absolutely priceless!
Unfortunately, Dave passed away December 23rd after a two year battle with Brain Cancer and will be sorely missed by many.
