sleeping beauty says, "you're not done with me yet!"

Yesterday, after shooting the video oustside, I took her for a spin around the block , mind you it was 15 degrees out, so windchill around 0.
I parked her outside for about 30 min, got sidetracked and upon returning, I could not move her.Appears front brake had locked up.
Why did this happen?
managed to get her into the shop, lifted up front end and yup, front tire is seized.
Why did this happen?

Okay, i just checked her again. She's spent the night in a cozy garage and it appears as though she is freeing up a little. I still want to rebuild the calipers , so that should help.
Would the extreme cold had something to do with this?

Maybe there's water in your brake caliper. I once owned a gl 1100 and had the problem with the rear brake sticking bwhen trying to
back it up. I went to work on rear brakes and found rust /water and fluid mixture. When was the last time brake fluid was changed ?

She will just have to learn to dress 'warm'. I would suggest that after her frosty ride around the block, that all of the moisture in the air and on the surfaces of the Princess, would gravitate together to try and warm each part. Of course, leaving it out in the cold for another 30 mins was enough for all the hand-holding moisture to get really cold and freeze up. Remembering that brake fluid is a water attractant, so if that has not been changed in the 21st Century, then I would suggest it would be time.

Perhaps it was just her way of digging her heels in, as it was just too cold for a girl to go out without some decent clothes

I am definitely going to get permission from her first before I do that again!! Of course after i change her fluids, did I just say that :P
After i am over that experience (changing her fluids), dress nice and warm, warm her up and then go for a nice little trek around the neighborhood again. She's just going to have to get used to the nakedness for now. She is very resilient and I am so proud to be her creator ;)
I really think she would break down if I ever considered getting rid of her. We've been through so much together :!:

Okay, somebody pinch me :D

I once had a problem with my front brake like that. It was fine until I rode for awhile, then it would lock up, I could open the bleeder and it would be fine for awhile again. I rebuilt the caliper and master, no help. Finally I talked to an old guy who said try the brake line. I replaced it with a stainless line and no more trouble, his thought was that the cloth fibers in the stock line had absorbed water and the water expanded when the brakes got hot, cant say for sure all I know is it worked.....just a thought
