NAVI Audio Tie-IN _ HOW TO???

Post by roberttretsch »

My Ride: 2010 Level 2 w/NAV/XM:

Is there anyway to tie-in to the OEM NAVI audio feed to comm system. I have a Garmin 765T with audio out (has mic capability but not interested in that at this time). If I plug this unit into the AUX it works just fine but I can't use radio or CD as AUX overrides both of these- there goes my music. My idea is that if I can tie-in to the OEM NAVI's audio signal at some point before the headset connection it could work as an integrated system. I can use the OEM NAV as a general road map (I'm sure a your aware of the OEM NAVI system's limitations) and plot routes on the 765T (much easier input and adaptable if I want as I drive) getting audio directions as they happen from the 765T by feeding into what would also be the NAVI's wire/electric route to the headset thus still having options for either radio or CD. By not plotting a route on the OEM NAVI I would not run into a problem of two devices competing to give directions. Would suspect that if this is feasible, the cue from the 765T would also mute whatever music might be playing.
