Synthetic or Regular Brake Fluid??
1983 Aspencade GL1100, Need to know if it is ok to switch to Synthetic? Any help would be great.. Thanks.....

I think you mean Silicone based brake fluid (DOT 5 or newer). The two are not compatible. I would use any DOT 3 or 4.

Yes, you can use synthetic DOT 3/4 brake fluid with your bike and have no compatibility issues!

Synthetic Dot4 will do no harm. It has a higher boiling point than Dot3, so it is much better.

All DOT3,4 and 5.1 brake fluid is synthetic (polyglycol and glycol ethers)base. Boiling points are due to each brands formula of additives. DOT 5 is silicone based and shouldnt be mixed at all. Some HDs use DOT 5.
