EBC Clutch spring help?!

Post by eekclegzed »

Hi :) I recently bought a whole new cluch assembly for my 78 Wing, in the kit I received a EBC Clutch spring kit containing only 4 springs!??

Yet I removed 6! I contacted the seller and they claim only 4 should be in the kit. It does say in the packaging they are 15% stiffer than the originals but I'm weary to put them in without a second opinion. Should I just put in 4? Or what do you guys suggest?

Thanks! 8-)

you need 6 springs to replace 6 springs not 4 new stiffer springs only.

Yep, 6 springs. And be very careful when tightening up the plate bolts, it can crack easily

OK thanks guys that clears that up. Will get back in touch with Partzilla's customer service and see what they can do. I told them they can't advertise this part for a 78 Wing with only 4 springs in the kit, I will now have to wait a few more weeks to get my parts! Oh the joys of living in Australia haha..

Thanks for the info fellas!

Here is a well-detailed how to for this removal and replacement of a clutch, so it should cover yours:

viewtopic.php?p=154074#p154074

There is a link to the Naked Gold Wing (NGW) site that shows the step by step. Follow that and you should have enough info not to break the cover plate :o It also show six springs, and a way of measuring them. HTH
