Lost Keys

Post by canbear »

I lost my keys to my 1984 Goldwing 1200 LE. So far nobody can help - locksmith, Honda Canada, local Honda dealer. I have the VIN. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the information re: key maker. I've e-mailed him so here's hoping.

Worst case: remove the ignition lock, then take to a locksmith. You might get away with using a different lock on the bike with the same key, but ignition is really the way to go. Lots to take off to even reach the lock assy, then only a couple bolts hold it in.

I did the same on my 80 1100 - it's just a bit easier to see what you're doing ;) I think the locksmith charged less than $50 and he cleaned it up great.
