on board air

Post by Sam I am »

My '93 gl 1500 had a hose ( about 6') in the right saddle bag that was hooked to the on board air comp.
now my dad may have installed this before I purchased the bike from him, however ,I have not been able to find any reference to this and would like this option on my 1800... :)
If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated...

That is used to add air to the tires using the on board compressor. I don't know this for a fact (haven't tried it) but I have heard that the compressor won't work on the shocks if the hose is connected.

Not an option for the 1800 because it doesn't have air shocks so no on board compressor. The 1800 has a hydraulic spring preload adjustment for the rear.I carry a small Slime Compressor with me.It's pretty small and fits in the space by the saddlebag tail light.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

OOPs! I didn't read the post correctly. Missed the 1800 part.
