Looking for a service manual PDF for a 1989 GL1500. Google links mostly don't work. I have the European version for 1989 and the (presumably USA) version for the 1994. How much of a difference is there between those and the 1989 (USA)? I'm going to need help removing front fairing parts and the front fork, and maybe the carbs. Beyond that, no plans to get deeper into it. So should the 1989 (Eu) or 1994 (US) be close enough?
Thanks...

WingAdmin has a great How-To on rebuilding the front forks here.
What do you want to do with your carbs?

Good morning, Chris.
Nothing at this time. I was just using the front forks and the carbs as examples of the max depth I'm likely to get into on this thing. I'm told (by someone I don't necessarily fully trust) that my front fork bearings may need replacement in the not-too-distant future. Depending on how ambitious I get, I may set that up as a winter project this winter or next.
Mostly I'd just like to find a service manual in PDF, or find out if there are major differences between what I have and 1989 (Eu) or 1994 (US), for future reference.

There are going to be some changes over the 20 years that the 1500 was produced so only the Service Manual for the specific year will be exact.
That being said, any manual that you have will be a great start. The '89 EU version may be closer as even the Clymer manuals are broken down 88-93 and 94-00.
I've heard other breakdowns of 88-89, 90-93, 94-97 & 98-00, but don't remember all of the differences.
I would use the two that you have and if you run into something that is different, come back to the forum for some help and explanation.
There are lots of people here that are willing & able to help with just about everything.
