headset cord

Post by bntyhntr6975 »

'95 Aspy, standard 5 pin DIN. Heres the issue: Not sure what brand/model headsets I have, but I an wanting to replace the cords. They both say Honda on the 90 degree plug for the helmet. 1 is a 1 piece, the other is 2 piece. The pin for transmitting CB has broken (upper cord of 2 piece) so Id like to replace it. I can/will repair this one for a spare. Problem is, I cant seem to find one. This is like the z plug (D shaped plug) but 5 pin, not 8 pin. Id like to get a couple of these so if anyone knows where to find them, Id appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention, upper cord says 'A', lower cord says 'B'. Pretty sure its Hondaline.

I think you're right about it being Hondaline. Hondaline was made by J&M, you might want to have a look at their website for replacements of their (proprietary, insanely expensive) headset cables: http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=20

The A & B cords have not been available for 5 years. Only option is a one piece E cord. The cords have a tag on them giving the part # HC-A, HC-B etc.

Thanks. I was afraid of that. I had seen the 1 piece cords so I knew they were available. But no 2 piece replacements is a little discerning. I guess I'll just have to do my best at repairing this one.

Actually the headset made for Honda by J&M is offered with a one piece "D" cord.
