Lost Key

Post by BOOK70 »

I Have lost my keys to the Goldwing... and i was just woundering if someone could tell me if the locksmith could make a key from the trunk lock, or saddlebags locks, if it would work in the ignition switch, so I wouldn't have to go through the trouble of removing the switch.
My old key did work on all the locks on the bike.

Thanks TigerCop

I don't see why not, if all the locks are keyed the same your locksmith should have not problem. he will probably find a code on the trunk lock to assist him. But I would call the smith of your choice to make sure before I went to pay him a visit. :D :D good luck

You can have a key sent to your home for $5.50 All you need is the key code. You can find it on any of your locks on the back side.

That would be the code he needs to make a key. It should be the same # on all the locks

Probably, most have 5 or 6 alphanumeric digits.

In your case, (GL1200) the last 3 digits are what you're looking for. Should be A, B, C, or D followed by 2 numbers (ie C41.) That will be your key code and should be on every lock.

Hi all, need help, I lost my key several months ago, now I broke into my filler cap to access the fuel cap. Now I cannot lock my trunk and glove box. Problem was the whole set of lock did not have same key as the ignition. I got used bike, 1 key shared between the locks except the ignition. Is it possible to get 3 locks set with 1 master key, what type of lock should I buy? Hard to get original locks. Seek your help. Thks

Should be a 3 digit number stamped into the lock cylinders somewhere on your fuel/trunk locks. You can have a new key cut from that key code....

It's cold and snowing outside and very late, or I'd go out to the garage to see where I can find a code on my bike.

No don't go out since it is cold. I will disconnect the barrel and have a look. Once I get the key code, where or whom should I seek to get the key cut? I m in Malaysia problem is here the the locksmith ain't that good. Perhaps u can recommend me somebody who would cut and courier or register mail to me. I would pay the person of course. Or I could pay for your trouble. So sorry to bother.

I always keep a spare key hidden on the bike.
I know that's not helpful right now, but...just a suggestion.

I had this place cut a key from code for me. They were able to figure out what I had and were very helpful.
