Hi all new here i was wondering if any one had a service manual for 1978 GL1000 in pdf. form? I believe i am having a problem with my stator. Also anyone done the mod for an alternator on one and could give me info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the service manual but the poorboy kit from Don piggot worked great on my 85 GL1200LTD... I had to modify the mounts to fit the 1200 but the kit is a bolt on for the 1000's. All you have to come up with is the belt and an alternator and your troubles will disappear. You can contact him through don_pigott@yahoo.com and he'll give you the info and prices.
