anyone know of a way to stop it lifting on the se.

It lifted and pulled up the clear coat with it?

those stripes should have some clear coat spray over them to keep them from coming off. you might be able to take a spray can of clear coat, spray a little into the cap until it pools up, use a small hobby paint brush and run the brush over the stripes. that should keep them from lifting up.
