Sena SMH10, SM10 and Android Phone Pairing

Post by Happytrails »

Sena guru's I seek your guidance! I'd like to have my SMH10 bluetoothed to my phone for music and phone use. I'd like to have the bikes audio connected to the SM10 along with a Nuvi plugged into the auxiliary port on the SM10 so I can hear gps audio over bluetooth.

I've been reading the manual and old forum posts trying to get this combination to work but so far I haven't had any success.. I'm trying the Multipoint pairing as described in the manual but I think I'm just not getting it.

**Updated firmware on SMH10 and SM10. Removed old SMH10 pairing off my phone. Did a factory reset of both the SMH10 and the SM10.

1. Pair SMH10 headset to Galaxy 4 phone.
2. Pair SM10 Dongle to phone.
3. Turn on SMH10 headsets.
4. Turn on Phone and let bluetooth pair.
5. Connect SM10 to bikes audio
6. Turn bikes audio system on.
7. Turn SM10dong on and let it pair.
8. I can hear "media paired" in headset but it stops the music from my phone. I try pressing the jog dial to get my phone to play music again but it doesn't want to work.

Can anybody share there wisdom tell where I have gone astray?

Happytrails, You seem to have struck a question that has bewildered the population, including me. I trust that someone else can provide some guidance for you.

Thinking you is right. Thought it was a long shot. For what its worth I did find the answers thru a lot of forum searching and experimentation. Sena forums provide a few clues. The SM-10 was doing what it was designed to do. I was just hoping for more  It turns out that there is an answer to what I was seeking and that is the 20s. Thinking that one over. :D

Paired devices are paired as specificity performing specific functions. Go into your Android phone's settings, then look at the Blue tooth settings... Find the paired item and look at it's configuration. It may not be able to pair as a media (musical) device or your phone may be using another device for media... That's the most I can suggest as I am not familiar with your items... Lots of items are only for one specific function... I. E. an ear piece may be for phone only or it may be made to do phone and media... You can use more than one blue tooth device with a phone but only one type of a specific device at a time...
