intercom

Post by cruiser1800 »

I have a 2006 goldwing trike, that I bought used, It has a I guess you call it a Honda CB, Intercom, etc. We have J&M corded headsets. My wife can shut off here mic, my mic is an open mic, where we hear all the road noise and anything else that is making noise. Is there some kind of setting where I can press a button to talk in the intercom, but my mic is off the rest of the time?

Thanks
Rodney

On the left passenger handle grip there is a volume control, off and on switch for the mic and a button to push to talk or leave it on and have an open mic.

On the GL1500, at least (Honda-branded, J&M-supplied intercom system), that volume control is only for the passenger's headset speakers. Unless I'm mistaken, the passenger's PTT switch is only for broadcasting on the CB. On my bike, when the intercom is turned on, both mics are live, all the time.

If you are getting that much wind noise it is more than likely you have the intercom volume set too high. A setting of 9 or less is normal .
