USB connector in trunk 2013 1800
Just got a 2013 Wing with Roadsmith trike kit and can't get the USB to play any music. I plug the usb in with music on sd card and hit the Aux button, but it just says No Song and keeps flashing that. I can play the music on my desk top ok, so sd card is good. I didn't get a user manual with bike so any help would be great. The USB cable is plugged into the radio too. AM and FM work ok. Bike doesn't have a CB yet. I tried setup etc but nothing about aux input.

You have to have a user manual. This is the best I can do for you...

What format are the files on your thumb drive? Honda hasn't upgraded the system since they first kicked it out the door ten years ago.
It understands MP3....if you're trying to feed it AAC, AIFF, WAV, or anything else....it will do exactly what you describe.
Also the thumb drive has to be formatted FAT32...not a big worry, though. FAT32 has pretty much become the default file system for thumb drives. So your machine probably does it without even asking you.

I just tried a test link to the ebay page you linked to and my link goes through that click pay site, too. Hmmm

I clicked the link from from my phone and the link looks okay to me. I guess it depends on the browser you are using, don't know.
It is item number 281809096300 on Ebay.

Mike, do me a favor if you will. When you can get to a PC, right click your link, copy the link address and past it into either the address bar on your browser or notepad and see if you get what I got.MikeB wrote:I clicked the link from from my phone and the link looks okay to me. The link works fine for me in Opera, which is the browser I use for forums. Copy/paste into IE causes me to get a ebay notice saying the listing has been removed, however, putting the listing number into the search bar of that page redirects me to the listing. It appears to still be there. It is an owners manual for a 2013 Goldwing for $22.95. I even tried copy/pasting the url address that you put in your post spiralout, and got the ebay listing for the manual. Methinks the problem is in your PC, sir. I hope not.

Re: USB connector in trunk 2013 1800
Apologies to the OP for hijacking his thread but I guess the best place to post this is where I noticed for the first time a link using it.
I was thinking I might have had some malware that was redirecting my browser to vlr.tynt.com/viglink.com before the actual url in the text but after a little research I found the problem wasn't on my end. It's the site using affiliate revenue generating for outbound links. Best I can tell without reading more is that if a link posted here goes to ebay for example, there's an affiliate id for goldwingdocs attached so that if that item is purchased, this site makes commission off of it. Just another way for the site to make income in, imo, a sneaky kind of way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Scott.
I understand the link goes to ebay for the owner's manual and it works fine for me, too, but I was asking Mike or someone to copy and paste his link address and check out the text in it to see if it was the same as what I got.themainviking wrote:The link works fine for me in Opera, which is the browser I use for forums. In addition to checking for proper file type (i.e. MP3).....you also need to press the Aux button a couple times until the display says "USB". If you plug an iPod in, press the Aux button until it says "iPod". NOTE: the system is kind of flaky when dealing with newer iPods or iPhones. I've a 3rd gen iPod Touch that works fine....and a 6th gen (current model) iPod Touch that it has trouble with.
Like I said previously.....Honda kicked this system out the door ten years or more ago and they haven't done a thing since to keep it current. Personally, I feel cheated. I was promised iPod compatibility and didn't really get it.

I haven't been ignoring you. I just got home from a 500 mile day ride. Great day here in the Northwest.spiralout wrote:Mike, do me a favor if you will. Anyway, I right clicked the link I posted, put it into Note Pad and this is what I got:
"http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-2013-GL18 ... 2k&vxp=mtr"
Same as what I put in the first post. I didn't get what you got possibly because I use Mozilla Firefox and AdBlockPlus. I don't see ads.
I did a search again for 2013 GL1800 Owners Manual and came up with the same link as I did initially. The item is still up for sale/auction.
Sorry if this has caused anyone problems. Just trying to help. Everyone needs an owners manual for their ride.

Nope - Tynt is a statistics system I have that monitors what links this site has on it leading to other sites, as well as inbound links from other sites, and where they come from. Apparently they have now added some code in their script that automatically modifies links that are copied from the site. This is NOT ok, and I am in the process of removing Tynt from the site as we speak as a result.spiralout wrote:Apologies to the OP for hijacking his thread but I guess the best place to post this is where I noticed for the first time a link using it.I understand the link goes to ebay for the owner's manual and it works fine for me, too, but I was asking Mike or someone to copy and paste his link address and check out the text in it to see if it was the same as what I got.themainviking wrote:The link works fine for me in Opera, which is the browser I use for forums.
