Re: Headlight adjuster screw stripped
I assume you are talking about the set screw on the adjustment knob. If your Philips won't work try the proper JIS screw driver in the bikes tool kit. If you don't have a JIS then you can grind the tip off of the Philips and put a rubber band over the tip to increase the grip . The screw only undoes about 6 turns but won't back out all the way out of the hole. You may have to dial it to the bottom after loosening it and give it a light tap to shake it out of the knob.

Ride safe, Todd

I've also used a drop of white grinding compound on the screwdriver tip to keep the grip.
Other than RoadRoque's suggestions, you could also resort to grinding a slot in the screw head that a flat blade will fit.

I'll add an endorsement for Screw Grab....that stuff works really well, and a great addition to any toolbox.

Re: Headlight adjuster screw stripped
If you have a drill and drill bits you can drill out the head and pull the knob off and unscrew the screw with a pair of pliers.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

Another trick, if you haven't got any other methods handy: put a rubber band in between the screwdriver and the screw, then press hard and turn the screwdriver to remove the screw.

Re: Headlight adjuster screw stripped
Use an electric Dremel tool with a thin cutting disc. You can cut a groove in the top of the screw and use a slotted screw driver instead of a phillips.
