I may be too impatient to wait to return them, and then wait for the company to ship them back to me...
I recently ordered some aftermarket shocks for my GL1100, and yesterday, received shocks for a GL 1200.
they measure 1 1/4 inches longer than the originals.
When my wife and I ride 2-up, the original shocks are squished down most of the way(I will take the blame for that).
Will there be any ill-effects using these 1" taller shocks?
I am guessing the travel is the same on both.
Thanks.

I guess it depends - how long are your legs?
1 1/4 inches would make a fair difference to me in how comfortable I was with ground-handling the bike - and I have pretty long legs.

I am about 6'. I think the seat height will be OK, just didn't know if there would be any problems with the angle that the drive shaft would operate at versus what it operates at now.
As far as the bike geometry goes, I wouldn't think being that small amount higher in the rear would cause any handling problems.
One thing I didn't think of, is how it will behave sitting on the center stand.
The rear tire may not be off the ground, as usual.
I guess I could throw them on and see.

The universal joint should be able to run at that different angle - you might see it subjected to a bit more wear than normal, however.
