Dial synchronizer calibration

Post by TrickyThom;) »

I need to synchronize my carbs. But I wanted to make sure that the synchronizer was calibrated properly.
So I used my vacuum break bleeder tool to calibrate synchronizer.
It was not calibrated very well at the factory. ;-)

Where did you get your synchronizer from? I have been thinking of getting one.

I worked in a bike shop where we worked on all kinds of motorcycles. Many of used a mercury filled tube type of monometer for carb syncing. It was fast, accurate, and reliable. One fello made his own. It was about four foot tall! He could get really close carb settings with it. Mine was about 18 inches long . No calibration needed. I inserted carb pilot jets in the lines to restrict the air flow and smooth out the intake pulses.
